This week’s theme is Reading Recommendations and I’ve been given the topic “Favourite Contemporary Books” which I’m very happy to say is right up my alley. I love me some good contemporaries. I don’t usually tend to lean toward historical fiction although I do occassionally read some classics. Although the list is by no means exhaustive, here’s a mix of some of my favourite contemporaries which I have enjoyed reading in the past and some quite recently:
- Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
Lincoln works the night shift in the IT department of a daily newspaper where his job is to read flagged down intra-office emails to check for offenders. Two office friends Beth and Jennifer share a lot of their personal lives over email and soon Lincoln falls in love with Beth even though he’s never met her.
